Buckley Patterson, PLLC was cofounded by John Buckley and Phillip Patterson to protect the rights of victims injured due to another’s negligent or reckless acts. After years of practicing in a large nationwide personal injury law firm, John and Phillip realized that many lawyers and firms had lost track of what they were fighting for: the client. The Buckley Patterson, PLLC team understands that injury victims and their families face hardships following these incidents. Since graduating he has become a member of the Texas Bar College, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, Texas Aggie Bar Association, Houston Young Lawyers Association, and the Houston Bar Association. Phillip is licensed to practice in Texas and The United States Southern District Court.
Phillip Patterson was born in Sulphur, Louisiana. He grew up in the Southeast Texas area, splitting time between Groves and the Houston area.
After high school, Phillip went on to become a proud member of the Fighting Texas Aggies class of 2012. While there he earned his bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering and participated in undergraduate research with the Michael E. Debakey Institute for Comparative Cardiovascular Science and Biomedical Devices, focusing on vascular and lymphatic flow dynamics. He also explored Germany and Europe during his History of Medicine study abroad where he received a unique insight into the medical field in Europe and how those processes compare and contrast their counterparts in the United States.
After working a few years as a regional manager for a pool management company, he went on to become a paralegal at a Houston personal injury law firm. Developing a love for legal work and the clients that he served, he wished to give more to those that were injured following other’s negligence and set his sights on a law degree at South Texas College of Law Houston.
While at South Texas he participated in the advocacy program, competed on the Moot Court Team, and was a member of Phi Delta Phi legal honors fraternity. Phillip competed in the Evans A. Evans Constitutional Law Moot Court Competition in 2016 at The University of Wisconsin Law School.
Upon graduating from law school, Phillip went on to work as an attorney with a prominent personal injury law firm for several years. His primary practice areas were personal injury, workplace injuries, products liability, trucking accidents, and wrongful death cases. He has worked on cases involving car accidents, drowning victims, electrocution, plant explosions, trucking accidents, and workplace injuries. Phillip has worked with countless injured plaintiffs and their families. Phillip’s drive comes from truly helping his clients and working with them to tackle the challenges that unforeseen injuries can cause.
In his spare time, Phillip enjoys spending time with his wife, three daughters, and newborn son. He enjoys the outdoors, hiking, sports, and going on long walks with the family Labrador, Dez. Phillip is an active member of the Houston community and is a proud board member of Bikes for Excellence. He also volunteers his time teaching Sunday School at his church.

Attorney John A. Buckley II is a born and raised Texan and comes from a family of attorneys. John has dedicated his life to establishing powerful and lasting connections throughout Texas and is driven by his desire to represent and protect the communities in which he was raised from injuries and wrongdoings thrust upon them due to no fault of their own.
John attended Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and Sam Houston State University where he focused his undergraduate studies on history, political science, and criminal justice – ultimately obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts in History from Sam Houston State University.
After obtaining his undergraduate degree, John attended South Texas College of Law Houston, an institution nationally acclaimed for its litigation coursework. While attending law school, John honed his legal mind by dedicating his studies to the coursework and skills necessary to protect his future clients. John demonstrated exceptional academic abilities earning recognition in the top 10% of his class and graduating magna cum laude.
Throughout his career, John has worked in environmental compliance, the service industry, aquatic safety and management, and with a nationwide personal injury firm.
John co-founded Buckley Patterson, PLLC, with his long-time friend and business partner, Phillip Patterson, in order to dedicate his life to helping those injured due to the negligent or reckless actions of another. He prides himself on being the go-to guy for his clients throughout all the trials and ordeals they face following their injury. His sole focus is the quest for justice for his clients and in doing so he ensures the wrongdoers are held accountable for their actions. Throughout his carrier, John has built strong and lasting relationships with those he has represented.
In his free time, John is an avid outdoorsman, conservationist, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo volunteer, and family man. He enjoys hunting, fishing, country concerts, camping, and BBQing with friends and family.
